What to do in Leeds: my favourite places

Hey guys ^^ having lived in Leeds for a year at uni, I thought I'd write a post on my favourite places to go in Leeds.

First, obviously, is the University of Leeds. I love it so much aaah. Studying Japanese here is a dream come true ^^

Sushi waka is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Leeds. It is fairly cheap, and there are often student discounts or special deals as well. The food here is really good though, and has the stamp of approval from our Japanese friends too. You can get a good meal for around £8, and then there's usually a discount on that sometimes.

Sukhothai is a chain of Thai restaurants around Leeds. It is so good! A bit pricier than Waka, so I got my parents to take me when they visited, hehe. They did have a good set meal deal for Sunday lunch which was about £13.
Speaking of Sukhothai, there are a tonne of lovely restaurants in Headingley. I'm not made of money, so I haven't tried many, but Salvo's was a lovely Italian place I tried.

Skipton is a really cute town outside Leeds. It has a canal, castle, market town... Such a cute day out ♡

Howarth is a little villiage near(ish) Leeds. It is adorable! But apparently it gets pretty busy in summer, so I went on a very rainy March Saturday ^^

The Royal armories is an awesome (free entry) museum in Leeds. So interesting! I wish I'd spent longer in here!

Karaoke at Mix karaoke: (located above sushi waka) is a great laugh! They also do some good discounts sometimes! Only downside is the machine is a little difficult to work, but the staff are always friendly and show you how it works as many times as you need ^^

Bowling at Roxy Lanes: there's another bowling alley in Leeds, but Roxy lanes gets my vote. It is a cute tiny bowling alley near Trinity shopping centre, and played the most nostalgic pop punk songs the whole time me and my flat went.

Leeds has a great nightlife, but I'm not the biggest party animal, so I can't really advise on clubs. Me and my friends usually ended up at the Leeds university union's Old Bar due to the cheapness of the drinks. However, I also loved Baa Bar, which served the most amazing (and massive) science-themed cocktails and drinks. Wednesday is also two for one on cocktails. Yes please!
Carpe Diem, Santiagos and Strawbs were some cool rock-playing bars I went with rock soc.
Fab cafe was also great! It's like a geek themed bar, and had a dancefloor and played pretty decent music. Here's my post on last September's Zombie Prom at Fab. Anime doc used to go here after their weekly showing.

^my outfit for zombie prom.

Finally, can't talk Leeds without mentioning how amazing it is for Shopping. Leeds trinity is the newest shopping centre, it's huge and has Primark, H&M and Topshop super close to each other. Heaven.
Leeds is also a haven for cute vintage shops and independent shops. The arcades are also adorable.

Phew, that was a wordy post.... Hope it was helpful/ interesting ^^
Lastly, check out Leeds list which has a tonne of posts about cool restaurants and things to do.

Thanks for reading *\(^o^)/*
Have you ever been to Leeds? Got any recommendations?
