I got a DSLR?!

So I finally took the plunge and bought a DSLR. I was thinking about getting a one for a while now, so when Cyber Monday rolled around I thought I'd take the plunge and saved myself around 150 pounds, score. I also thought that while I was here in Japan, I'd take advantage of the fact that tech is often a little cheaper than in the UK.

I feel like recently, blogs have become so much more polished, especially when it comes to photography. Obviously, I'm only doing this for fun, but I still want to make my blog the best it can be. I have absolutely no background in photography and I suck at technology, but since coming here, I've been taking loads more photos and I want to improve my skills. I'm enjoying being a bit creative and of course I've been having a great time taking photos out and about in Japan.

After a fair bit of research, I decided to go for the Nikon D3300. Apparently it's a good entry level DSLR, it came with the 18-55 lens and buying it on Amazon saved me a lot of money so I could get it for around 200 pounds. I think there are still discounts on Amazon now, but it's always worth checking out a couple of different places, right?

Having said that, don't expect the photography level on this blog to go up any time soon. I'm still shooting on Auto and Aperture Priority mode until I can get my head round the controls. If anyone knows any good tutorials, give me a shout ok?
