Madrid Day 3 and 4: Rosaleda and the Temple of Debod

Madrid Day 3 and 4: Roselada and the Temple of Debod
For the Sunday of my long weekend in Madrid, we decided to visit the Temple of Debod- an Egyptian temple which was transported to Spain! We also checked out the nearby rose garden in the parque del oeste.

First up, we grabbed breakfast in Granier San Bernardo (which was a cute little cafe across the road from our airbnb), and then we walked over to the Temple of Debod. It was pretty much midday by the time we got there, so we just chilled in the shade in the park chatting for a while.

After the Temple, we headed to the nearby rosaleda of the parque del oeste. I was worried all the roses would be over already (it was mid june) but luckily it was still really pretty!

We walked back to the airbnb to cool off, and for a well earned nap!

In the evening, we decided to head back to the Temple of Debod and see the sunset there. I bought a brownie and banana flavoured ice cream for the journey, and it was amazing.

It was such a romantic and perfect last evening in Madrid! The Temple looked stunning, and even though there were quite a lot of people there, the atmosphere was pretty chill.

The next day, we got breakfast at the Granier San Bernardo again:

And then it was pretty much time to go back to the airport and head home :(

I liked Madrid a lot, even though it's not the first place you think to go in Spain, I had a lovely time and it's definitely somewhere I'd go back to! It was a gorgeous city, and all the Spanish people were really nice.
Have you guys been to Madrid? Where else in Spain would you recommend?
