Empties #15// Lush, Bleach London, The York Candle Company etc//

flatlay of empty beauty products
Another month, another empties! I think I've said this before, but personally empties posts are my favourite type of beauty review- you know the person has either really liked it (or was reeeally trying to use it up) and I think reviewing it after finishing the whole thing is way more accurate than the 'I swatched it and it seems lovely' approach you see sometimes. So, here are the products I've used up the past month.
The Body Shop Shea Hair and Body Oil// this was a present from my lovely friend and while it was really moisturising, the scent was pretty overpowering. Another thing that was a problem for me was that because this oil has quite a watery consistency, it drips easily and I've managed to spill it so many times. I would have preferred it with a little pipette so it was less messy. (To be fair, I am clumsier than average so this wouldn't be a problem if you don't drop things. But that is not me and will never be me.) I'll admit also that I was trying to use it up before I go away and I hate wasting products, and it's probably nicer if you only use a little bit each time. It was a great moisturising oil, but I've got argan oil for my hair and I think I'll stick with that because it's unscented and I was so over the smell of this.

Lush Karma Kream// really sad to see this go- I'm obsessed with the Karma scent and this was a treat from my boyfriend when I was sad. It cheered me up every time I used it though ♡ This is pricier than I'd normally go, but it's really rich and amazing.

Garnier Micellar water// this is a staple beauty product of mine for getting eye makeup off- it's cheap and does the job with minimal eye irritation. This was maybe the third or fourth one I've used, so safe to say it gets the thumbs up from me.

Bleach Live Forever Conditioner// I am a huge fan of Bleach, but to be honest this conditioner didn't do it for me. I like the live forever shampoo, but tbh I wouldn't buy this conditioner again- my hair needs more moisture and this just feels like any old conditioner. I tend to use a hair mask instead of a conditioner at the moment, so I think I'll stick to that as my hair is bleached and need all the love I can get.
Bleach Smoky Shampoo// I loove this- it's the slightly purplier version of Bleach's Silver Shampoo. I've already got another bottle of this in reserve, and I reviewed it in my Silver shampoos reviewed post, where I compared all the silver shampoos I've ever used.

Simple kind to skin purifying cream cleanser// this is *my* cleanser- I love the cream consistency. I have a bit of an 'if it aint broke, don't fix it' approach to cleansers-- my skin likes this and the muji cleanser and seems to be irritated by lots of others, especially foaming ones. So, I tend to stick to unfragranced cream cleansers like this. This cleanser does a pretty good job at taking eye makeup as well, which is great for days when I can't be bothered to do a double cleanse/ want to save space in my luggage if I'm travelling.

Tresemme heat protect styling spray// The only heat protection spray as far as I'm concerned- it's cheap and smells nice and it just works, so I've not really felt the need to try anything more expensive. I also bought the travel one, but the spray nozzle doesn't make as fine a mist, so I'd actually recommend just pouring some into a smaller bottle and using the spray nozzle from the full sized bottle.

Superdrug Strengthen Nails and moisturises hands cream// This was another present and it's a really great hand cream- it's light, absorbed nicely and kept my hands really soft. It's not really a winter one for me as I need something that's suuper rich and thick or else my hands go a bit scaly, but for the rest of the year it did a great job. It's quite a big tube, so I was kind of over the scent by the end of the tube though.

Bayliss and Harding Midnight Boudoir peony shower gel// This shower gel smelled amazing <3 I loved the scent so much I've finished this and the other two products in the set my friend gave me. Bayliss and Harding are a solid shout tbh- I always buy their liquid soap for the kitchen as the smell is great and it doesn't dry out my hands compared to other liquid soaps.

York Candle Company Elderflower Gin// I loooved this candle- I bought it at Northern Craft earlier in the year, and I bought 3 for £20 with my friend, so it wasn't too out of reach pricy. I loved the scent and the candle burned really well too, so I'd definitely pick one up again! I gave one as a present and it was well received too :)

Rimmel 60 seconds nail varnish// I bought this for £1 in poundland back in the day, and it managed to last pretty well as long as being a gorgeous colour, but I managed to use it all up before it went gloopy and horrible.

Miss Sporty yellow nail varnish// This nail varnish was as old as the hills and had gone so gloopy and streaky that it just didn't apply well, or

The Ordinary Moisturising factors with HA// I liked this and I think it did make my skin feel really soft. However, it’s quite a small product and slightly more expensive and slightly more annoying to get hold of than my normal moisturiser. I’d definitely pick this up again though, it was good and reasonably priced. To be honest, I’ve liked all of the 5 or so things I’ve tried from the ordinary so far, and I'd definitely buy from them again.

Barry M top coat base coat and nail hardener// barry m doesn’t let you down when it comes to nails- to be honest I’ve loved them ever since I got one free with shout magazine (did anyone else religiously read shout???) This makes sure my nails aren’t stained, dries pretty quickly and I’m no nail expert but it seems to do the job pretty well. I’ve got another one at the ready because I don’t see the point in shopping around when this one seems to work so well for such a good price.

That’s it for now! Do you guys like empties posts (I hope so, I seem to be posting them a lot, oops) Hopefully I'll be switching things up soon, so stay tuned 💖
