How to talk about blogging IRL?

When friends ask about your blog, it's hard to know quite how to answer. The question of how to talk about blogging to your friends in real life is an interesting one: although so many people use the internet, not everyone blogs. You can get a kind of mixed reaction- from people who don't understand what a blog is (this is from the parental variety of people, usually) to people who seem disappointed that although you have a blog, you're not internet famous.

Here's a few pointers on how to talk about your blog:

1// Don't hide your blog: there's no point!

2// Although, make sure it's appropriate to share- don't be dropping F-bombs all over your blog if you know your nan will read it later (although if that's how you roll, power to you)

3// Don't be apologetic about it, even if it's a teeny blog like Candyflossoverkill, that doesn't mean it's pointless, if you enjoy writing about it

4// Be casual about it- although some people seem to think it's a big deal, at the end of the day blogging is just another hobby the same as anything else like playing the guitar or baking.

5// Don't try and force people to look at it either, (don't be that one annoying person that's like "omg like this facebook page pleeeaaase") as depending on the subject of the blog, it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

Thanks for reading! I'd love to know what you guys think: how do you introduce your blog to people without feeling awkward or coming across as annoying?
