A lifestyle blog by a London gal who loves plants, metal, bleaching my hair and Osaka

"Be a tourist in your own back garden" is a piece of advice that we're always being given, but it is so worth it!
In summer, when we're being bombarded with everyone's far flung adventures on the Internet, it's easy to get a little jealous. It's so important not to forget how amazing places on your doorstep are!

I live pretty near London, so it had got to the point where it didn't feel 'special' to me any more. I never took photos or went to the 'touristy' areas. Taking my boyfriend round London made me realise it's actually pretty awesome!

Everything is what you make of it! Even my villiage, which I usually think of as super boring, is full of beautiful countryside walks and lovely people.

When I was a child I used to be insanely jealous of my friends holidays to Disney land or Mexico, but I've realised that my family loves to holiday in the UK for a reason- it's absolutely beautiful!

(This year's holiday to Kilve, Somerset)

The grass always seems greener on the  other side, but if we stop and think about it, I'm sure everyone can come up with a few great things to do in their area. Whether is a new or favourite restaurant, going sightseeing, going to a museum or taking a trip to the countryside, try being a tourist in your own area!

Thanks for reading!
